CSCP Publishes Annual Report for 2023-24

27 September 2024

The Croydon Safeguarding Children Partnership (CSCP) has released its Annual Report for 2023-24, outlining its work over the past year in safeguarding children and improving outcomes for families across Croydon. The report highlights the key achievements of the partnership, which operates under the guidance of the Working Together 2023 framework.

Among the notable accomplishments, the CSCP successfully completed two Cases of Concern, four Local Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (LCSPR), and three Rapid Reviews. The partnership also implemented a more forensic and evidence-based approach to its assurance methods, with a focus on improving multi-agency collaboration and accountability.

Additionally, significant efforts were made to enhance safeguarding within the local voluntary and community sectors, and the partnership played a pivotal role in supporting public health initiatives, particularly the borough’s suicide and self-harm reduction policy. Despite these advancements, challenges remain, particularly in ensuring consistent partner engagement due to capacity constraints, a key area of focus moving forward.

For the upcoming year, the CSCP will prioritise alignment with the Working Together 2023 guidance, with a strong focus on strengthening safeguarding partnerships, improving data sharing, and addressing partner engagement challenges. The CSCP also plan to implement a fee-based training model and publish new multi-agency safeguarding arrangements by December 2024.

The CSCP is committed to building on the progress made and ensuring that the voices of children and families continue to shape service provision in the year ahead.
