Message from MASH:

We are pleased to announce that as of Monday 12 June, the new MASH Portal will be live for making new referrals.

You should now use the portal to make referrals into MASH for Children’s Social Care, Early Help, EWMH and information requests.

Please note, the portal is for children who do not have an allocated social worker or early help key worker. Please contact the allocated worker, manager, or team directly if the child is open to a worker.

We very much hope that the portal will both improve the referral process into MASH but also help ensure that MASH received the right referral information to help the team make the right decisions. As the Portal feeds directly into the MASH recording system, it will also improve the efficiency of MASH processes.

You can now make a referral.

Please note that our external Concerned About a Child webpage is still being updated, including with the new Portal link.

Attached are some FAQs, including who to contact if you experience difficulties with the Portal.

I have also attached our MASH referral sheet, which includes key information that is useful to include in a referral (if you have it).

If you are not sure whether a child has an allocated social worker or not, please call 0208 726 6000, Option 1.

If you have an urgent concern about a child that needs an immediate same day response, please contact 0208 255 2888 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) or our Emergency Duty Team on 0208 726 6400 outside of these hours. You will need to submit a written referral alongside this.

For urgent referrals that require an immediate response outside of office hours, please contact our Emergency Duty Team on 0208 726 6400.

We will still be accepting MARF referrals into our main MASH inbox above but we do encourage you to use the Portal as the means for referral going forward.

To help us better manage the amount of emails we received into this inbox, we will be implementing a few changes surrounding requests for information

If you need to make an information request, please submit this formally. You can now submit information requests via the Portal above and we would encourage you follow this process. If you do still need to submit an information request via our email above, we would request you do so using your own agency information request form or via the MARF form (i.e. rather than just an email).

If you are wishing to speak to or leave a message for a child’s allocated social worker, you need to contact them directly. Your email into our MASH email inbox will not be responded to.

If you are a professional and you are enquiring if the child is known, you need to either submit a formal information request referral or phone 0208 726 6000. Any general emails requesting to know if a child is known or has an allocated SW will not be responded to.
